Welcome to Wisconsin Sign

247wallst.com released a list of the top 50 best places to live in America, and Wisconsin is well-represented. Four Wisconsin cities made the top 50 – and one made the top 10.

To determine the list, they used measurements from various sources including the U.S. Census Bureau and the FBI to determine the rankings. Factors considered included safety, affordability, and employment. Any city/town/village considered was required a population of 8,000 or more.

Outside of the top 10, cities like Monroe (44), Sturgeon Bay (41), and Stevens Point (39) made the list. The report cited low unemployment rates, low crime rates, and a surplus of things to do as the primary advantages of these cities.

Whitefish Bay, WI snuck into the top 10, finding itself in the 9th spot. They stated that the village is one of the safest places in the country – it has a crime rate that is only 10% of the national average. Its unemployment rate is half of the national rate and the median income is over $110,000.
