Eat Some Jewish Bread! And this one has cinnamon sugar in it!!!!

Hanukkah is here!!!!(on December 2) and it's not a real Hanukkah without challah. It's not a real Jewish holiday unless you have challah at the table. EXCEPT FOR PASSOVER, NO BREAD ALOUD FOR THAT. But that's a different story. As a kid, I didn't like many foods,(shocking, I know) so I lived off of challah. Now as an adult, my palate is much more refined, but I still love challah. Everyone has their own personal challah recipe, and this one is mine. The secret is putting the cinnamon in the actual dough, and the molasses makes it nice and dark!  

3-3/12 C flour
2/3 C warm water
1 packet Yeast(2 1/4tbsp)
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
Big gloop of honey
Nice gloop of Molasses
Good pour of vanilla
3 tbsp cinnamon
some suger

1 C brown sugar
1/4 C oil
Good amount of cinnamon
Combine in a bowl until paste like substance forms


1) Put flour, eggs, oil, honey, molasses, vanilla, cinnamon, water and yeast in mixing bowl and mix together and then knead until dough is formed.


2) Let rise for at least 2 hours

3) Make cinnamon/Brown Sugar mixture


4) Separate dough into 3 equal portions. Roll each portion into a square and fill with Brown sugar/cinnamon mixture


4) Roll each sheet covered in cinnamon sugar into logs and start your braid

Do the over/under method to make the perfect braid and then cover in egg wash(egg & water mixed)


5) Bake at 375 for 30 minutes

Bada Boom Bada Bing you got the perfect challah. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EATING IT WARM WITH BUTTER
