Netflix wants to make Selena fans’ hearts go bidi bidi bom bom with its upcoming scripted drama that will tell the story of the Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla’s childhood and career.

“Selena: The Series” was announced in December of 2018 and is slated to debut on December 4, 2020, and along with a few newcomers, you may recognize some familiar faces in the cast. Meet them below:

Juan Martinez, who has had roles on shows like “Parenthood,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “S.W.A.T.,” and “Triple Frontier” will play young A.B. Quintanilla. Daniela Estrada will take on the role of young Suzette, the middle Quintanilla child who begrudgingly learned to play the drums for her family's band.

Selena Quintanilla’s meteoric music career was tragically cut short when she was killed by her former fan club president at the age of 23. She was the first Latin artist to debut atop the Billboard 200 with her posthumous album “Dreaming of You.” The 1997 biopic based on her life story catapulted Jennifer Lopez into Hollywood’s A-list, and Quintanilla’s musical legacy lives on, with stars like Kacey Musgraves paying tribute to the queen of tex-mex on stage at the Houston Astrodome earlier this year.
